We have started a new tradition at BES called Mrs. Reid's Great Reads. Each month, our principal, Mrs. Reid, will select one book connected to an idea that helps us grow--as learners, as friends, and as members of our school community. Every PK-5 classroom will receive a copy of the book to keep and add to their classroom library. September's Book: When You Dream Big by Peter H. Reynolds
What better way to begin than with a story that reminds our students to imagine what might be possible?
When You Dream Big reassures us that we don't have to have a specific job or title in mind to have a bright future. Instead of focusing only on what we want to do, we can focus on who we want to be--kind, brave, curious, helpful, and positive human beings. The story reminds us to keep an open mind and to keep moving forward, one step at a time.
Books were delivered to classrooms today, and we look forward to our teachers and students enjoying them!
