Thank you to those who attended BES Commitment Night on August 20! We had about 1/3 of our families join us. Your attendance and support mean so much to us! If you were unable to attend the event, please be sure that you have signed the Family-School Compact and have returned it to your child's teacher. We need to have that on file for every BES student/family. If you need another copy, please reach out to your child's teacher or contact the front office.

It's hard to believe that we have officially been in school for a month! We are settling into a great rhythm for learning. As we continue to focus on "Growing Greatness Together," we will be focusing on our trait of the month: Respect. Respect is seeing the value in all people and things and treating them with care. Every school day is an opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and shine! Being at school (and on time) each day helps our Stars build strong routines, develop important skills, and stay connected with their teachers and classmates.

To honor our nation on September 11, we invite all students and staff to wear their red, white, and blue.

International Dot Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on September 15 to champion creativity, courage, and collaboration.

Inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ beloved 2003 children's book, The Dot, the movement began in 2009 when teacher Terry Shay introduced the story to his classroom. The book follows a young girl named Vashti, who believes she cannot draw until her art teacher encourages her to "just make a mark and see where it takes you." Vashti's single dot on a blank sheet of paper sparks an empowering journey of self-discovery, confidence, and artistic expression. Today, the event reaches over 19 million educators, students, and creators across 190+ countries who join together to make their own marks on the world.

We encourage our students and staff to get creative and wear their dots on September 15. Let's make our mark!

We are excited for the Scholastic Book Fair! Students will visit the book fair during their regularly scheduled library class times the week of September 21-25. We would love to have parent volunteers. They can sign up at this link:

On Friday, September 25, we encourage our students and staff to represent their favorite football teams with a spirit wear day. Wear your favorite team's jersey, shirt, etc.
