Georgia Milestones Assessment Information for Families

Posted Date: 04/13/26 (08:43 AM)

BES Families,
We would like to inform you about the upcoming Georgia Milestones assessments. Students in third, fourth, and fifth grades will be participating in these important state assessments in the coming weeks. The Georgia Milestones Assessments are designed to measure how well students have learned the concepts and skills outlined in the Georgia Standards of Excellence. These assessments provide valuable information about student progress and help guide future instruction to best support student achievement.

Third and fourth grade students will complete the English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics Georgia Milestones assessments. Fifth grade students will complete the ELA, Mathematics, and Science assessments.
A grid displays a schedule of GMAS tests for grades 3-5 from April 27th to May 8th.
A website, called Experience Online Testing Georgia, has been established to provide an opportunity for students and family members to become familiar with the online testing platform. The website can be found at: http://www.gaexperienceonline.com/. This practice site does not require a log-in and is available 7 days a week. Please remember this practice site is not designed as a “practice test” to measure a student’s knowledge of course content and scores will not be generated. This site is intended to allow students to familiarize themselves with the online platform prior to testing.

For additional information, please see this flyer, which also includes links to materials that families can use to better understand the test and support their child at home.  25-26 Milestones family letter.pdf

We will also be setting up practice sessions during the school day to provide students a similar opportunity to acquaint themselves with the online testing system. If you have questions about our upcoming spring test administrations for Georgia Milestones, please contact, Stephanie Martin at stephanie.martin@barrow.k12.ga.us or call 770-867-2238.

If you have questions or would like more information, Mrs. Martin, our assistant principal and school testing coordinator will be available to assist you following our Annual Title I Spring Planning Meeting on April 21st at 3:30 PM.

We appreciate your continued support in helping our students do their best. Please encourage your child to get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and come to school ready to succeed.
