Paraprofessional Appreciation Day: April 1

We would like to recognize our amazing paraprofessionals. Our school could not function without all of these hard-working individuals. They do incredible things on a daily basis, and we are so fortunate to have them as members of the BES family.

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Assessments

All Barrow County Kindergarten-5th grade students will participate in the Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) Growth Assessments MAP Growth determines your child’s instructional level and measures academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of reading, language usage, and mathematics. Students participate in the assessments at the beginning, middle and end of each year. Following each testing period, you will receive a report showing your child’s achievement and growth.

Please help us by encouraging your child to do his/her best as we will use this data to inform decision making throughout the remainder of the 25-26 school year. It will be important that they get a good night’s rest the night before, eat a healthy breakfast and arrive to school on time during their assigned test days.
We are truly excited for this opportunity as we will continue to focus on every child’s individual growth and achievement. Partnering to help all kids learn, parents and teachers can have a profound positive impact on the lives of our children. If you would like more information about MAP assessments, please contact us. Additional parent resources are also available in the NWEA MAP Growth link at https://www.nwea.org/map-growth/.

Note: Dates for the assessments are listed in the April Events section of this newsletter.
